Good bye Doggie
It is with a heavy heart that I bid good bye to Doggie.
I went to the NBI and DFA last April 24 and before I left, she was still there. Happily wagging her tail as I bid her good bye. I left rather quickly so she wouldn't follow me out of the gate.
I got home rather late and when I came back, she wasn't there to greet me. Usually, when she hears the gate open, she goes out from under the car and greets people or probably barks at strangers. Today, she wasn't there.
I thought she was just outside but was coming back. Night time came, dinner time, still there was no sign of her. Usually, she's prompt and starts banging on the screen door as soon as she feels hungry. But not today. I start worrying when it was night time, time for me to go to bed and still no sign of her.
Morning came and still no sign of her. When I left the house for my mom's house, I checked the front gate. We thought the dog catchers finally got to her. Still, no sign of her.
We'd like to think that she is back in the arms of her real owners. I hope she is. I don't want to think that something really bad happened to her.
To Doggie, we really miss you and we're glad that you were here with us for a little while. You've been loyal, friendly, playful and showed that you really loved us. I know the teeth marks on my Banana Peel slippers will forever remind me of you.
God bless!!!
